Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie want Maddox, 7, Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 3, and 1-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne to have as normal an upbringing as possible.
Being in the spotlight is already something the kids take for granted - but they haven't quite realised that their parents are movie stars.
‘It’s not strange to them that their parents will come on television,’ says Brad, 45.
‘And it’s not strange for them to walk outside and for there to be a photographer. They just think if there is printed material hanging around, their parents might be on the cover. So we’re still trying to negotiate how we explain to them what we do.’
Brad insists he and Angelina, 33, manage to leave the media circus behind when they’re indoors so they can spend quality time together as a family.
‘We’re pretty good at it,’ he tells The Times Magazine. ‘You carve out that time for the family...
‘[The media frenzy] kind of goes on without us. It’s self-generating. When I was younger I would take it personally; it was such an injustice to me.
'As a man or as a woman I don’t know how they could sit there and do it. I mean, [the stories] are consciously fabricated...’
