Ryan O’Neal accidentally hit on daughter at Farrah's funeral

Actor thought Tatum O’Neal was strange Swede

Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett first got together in 1979, split up in 1988 and then reunited in 2001

Ryan O'Neal was left red-faced at Farrah Fawcett’s funeral – when he mistakenly tried to flirt with his own daughter.

The actor, 68, didn't recognise Tatum - with whom he has a rocky relationship - when she approached him at the LA service for the Charlie’s Angels star.  

‘I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me,’ says Ryan.

‘I said to her, “You have a drink on you? You have a car?”

‘She replied, “Daddy, it's me - Tatum!” I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it's my daughter. It's so sick.’

But Tatum, 45 – who is Ryan’s daughter with actress Joanna Cook Moore - wasn’t offended.

‘That's our relationship in a nutshell,’ she tells Vanity Fair. ‘You make of it what you will.

‘It had been a few years since we'd seen each other, and he was always a ladies' man, a bon vivant.’
