Kym Marsh: My dad used to spy on me

David Marsh made sure Coronation Street star stayed out of trouble

Kym Marsh’s father used to keep a close eye on her when she was growing up.

David Marsh didn’t trust the Coronation Street star.

‘My dad used to be spy on me when I was a teenager,’ says Kym, 33. ‘He’d follow me into town and sit in his car.

‘My mates used to say, “Isn’t that your dad over there?”’

Kym admits she’s just as protective of her own kids - David, 14, and Emily, 12, with ex Dave Cunliffe.

‘I found myself giving [David] a lecture, telling him to be careful and then thought “Oh no, when did I turn into my mum?”' she adds. 'But, of course, I don’t spy on David.’
