Mike Tindall: I'll wed Zara Phillips when the time is right

Rugby star wants to marry before he has kids

Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall have been together for six years

Mike Tindall says he will pop the question to long-term girlfriend Zara Phillips.

The couple have been dating since 2003 and recently bought an £800,000 home together.

'I don't think it is about whether we will get married, but when,' says Mike, 30.

'There is no doubt that I love Zara, but it has to be the right time.

'She is so busy competing and I am touring. We often don't even manage to get away on holiday together.

‘And, yes, it probably would be a white wedding, although sometimes I can see the attraction of sneaking away without telling anyone.’

Mike admits he wants kids with Zara, 28, who is the Queen's granddaughter.

'I would like to have children one day but again it’s about finding the right time,’ he tells Hello!

‘I am quite a traditional guy, so I think I will be doing it the usual way round: marriage first and then children.'
