Gemma Bissix says it's unfair that Arlene Phillips has been axed from Strictly Come Dancing.

The former EastEnders actress, who appeared on Sport Relief Does Strcitly Come Dancing in 2008, is worried the BBC programme will lose its appeal.

‘I can see what they’re doing, getting someone younger in, but I do think it’s a bit harsh,’ Gemma tells Now Online.

‘I don’t think Strictly will be the same without Arlene. Arlene is Strictly Come Dancing.’

But Gemma, 26, is confident her replacement Alesha Dixon, 30, will do a good job.

‘I’m a massive fan of Alesha,’ Gemma admits. ‘Maybe Arlene could be Alesha’s mentor and give her advice on the technicalities of dancing.’

Gemma is currently working with Echo Falls, sponsors of Come Dine With Me.
