Louis Walsh: Arlene Phillips sacking was a mistake

The X Factor judge has his say on Strictly

Louis Walsh manages Westlife

Strictly Come Dancing bosses were wrong to axe Arlene Phillips, according to Louis Walsh.

The 66-year-old is being replaced by Alesha Dixon, 30, on the judging panel.

But Louis, who works on rival show The X Factor, reckons the BBC programme will lose credibility.
   
‘They’ve made a massive mistake sacking Arlene,’ he says. ‘She knows more about dancing than anyone else.’

It's thought producers are hoping to attract a younger audience by hiring Alesha.

‘Most young people aren’t drawn to ballroom dancing,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror. ‘Nothing will change that.’
