Pair lock lips at comic convention in San Diego

David Tennant has worked alongside Billie Piper and Catherine Tate in Doctor Who

David Tennant left John Barrowman feeling faint after planting a smacker on him yesterday.

The pair snogged as they promoted the new series of Doctor Who in San Diego.

‘I’ve slightly gone all flustered – I really have,’ said John, 42. ‘I’ve been waiting for that for years – thanks David.’

Meanwhile, David, 38, has hinted that he could return to the sci-fi series after he’s replaced by Matt Smith later this year.

‘Nothing's planned,’ he said. ‘No one knows what might happen. But 2013 is the 50th anniversary, isn't it? That’s not an announcement.

‘But Matt is brilliant, which is annoying.’

David insists he will miss the show.

‘The final stories are very emotional,’ he added. ‘The story takes you to places that the Doctor can't go on a regular basis.

‘That's, from an actor's point of view, hugely challenging and liberating and exciting. It's thrilling that we get to make people cry.’
