Jay-Z is horrified that Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna but is glad he has now apologised publicly.
Chris, 20, who pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend last month, posted a video on his website on Monday asking for forgiveness from his fans.
‘We're all flawed human beings,’ says Jay-Z, 39. ‘All a person can do is apologise.
‘That's it, what can we say? You know everyone should be allowed to make mistakes. It happens.’
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, has become a mentor to Rihanna, 21, since he signed her to the Def Jam record label in 2005.
He has rubbished reports that he banned Chris from the Black Entertainment Awards last month following the assault.
‘That's the silliest rumour I ever heard,’ he told Tim Westwood on his radio show.
‘Let me categorically deny that. If I have a problem with Chris Brown, I got a problem with Chris Brown. I don't agree with what he did and that's that.’
