Footage emerges of 1984 incident when Thriller star was left with serious burns

Michael Jackson was injured by fireworks during the accident

A video of Michael Jackson's hair accidentally being set on fire has been posted online.

The Thriller star suffered burns to his face and scalp when he was hit by pyrotechnics while shooting a Pepsi ad on 27 January 1984.

In the video, Michael appears to be unaware of his pain for at least 5 seconds before aides rush on stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium with extinguishers.

He received $1million compensation from Pepsi for the fireworks accident.

Michael, 50, donated the entire fee to build a burns unit for children.
