Religious education was footballer’s favourite subject at school

Wayne Rooney loved religious studies

Wayne Rooney reckons he could have become a priest if he wasn’t a footballer.

The Manchester United star, 23, was a big fan of religious education classes when he was a teenager.

‘I haven’t a clue what else I could have done,’ he tells The Sun. ‘I wasn’t really the best in school. I always enjoyed RE — so maybe a priest.’

Wayne and wife Coleen Rooney, 23, are expecting their first child in October.
