Paternity test confirms Akon has six-month-old baby

Rapper vows to do the right thing by his child

Akon has confirmed that a reality television show is in the works

A paternity test has proved Akon's the dad of a six-month-old baby.

The rapper, 35, real name Aliaune Thiam, found out the results last month.

Akon has vowed to financially support the child’s mum Sara Coleman.

‘He has taken responsibility and has been extremely cooperative and proactive in handling this private matter,’ reads a statement to TMZ.

‘Paternity was only established just over 30 days ago.’

Akon told Blender magazine in 2007 that he had five kids by three women.
