Over 600 people visit venue to honour the star

The Michael Jackson tributes at London's O2

Michael Jackson fans congregated at London's O2 arena yesterday to mark what would have been the first night of his This Is It residency.

More than 600 mourners got together to hold a minute’s silence at 6.30pm – the time the doors to the concert would have opened.

The fans, who travelled from all over the world, left floral tributes and took part in a sing-a-long.

Michael passed away from a suspected heart attack in LA on 25 June.

Promoters AEG Live are now trying to arrange a memorial on 29 August – the day the star would have turned 51.
