EastEnders star promoted safe sex

Kara Tointon was once the face of an ad promoting awareness of sexual diseases.

The EastEnders actress was featured in a magazine alerting people to the dangers of contracting STDs.

'They took a picture of me in a bathroom looking sad,' she recalls. 'It was used in a magazine to illustrate the dangers of contracting diseases.' 

Kara, 25, who was still in school at the time, was teased for the ad.

'Everyone took the piss out of me,' she tells FHM. 'I was Chlamydia Girl.'
