She thinks she'd be an unnecessary distraction
Tuesday, 7 July 2009
Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe is not going to be at his memorial.
The Thriller singer’s life is being celebrated at a public event at LA’s Stapels Centre today.
‘Although Debbie had originally planned to attend the memorial service, we have concluded with Debbie that she will not be attending,’ reads a statement from her lawyer Marta Almli.
‘The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael's legacy.
'Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael's memory privately.’
Debbie is currently deciding whether to seek custody of Prince Michael,12, and Paris, 11, her kids with Michael.
