Actress doesn't want any part in the 'public whoopla'
Tuesday, 7 July 2009
Elizabeth Taylor has confirmed she will not read a eulogy at Michael Jackson’s memorial.
The singer’s life will be celebrated during a public service at LA’s Staples Centre today.
But Liz, 77, has decided to give it a miss.
‘I said I wouldn't go to the Staples Centre and I certainly don't want to become a part of it,’ she writes on Twitter. ‘I love him too much.
‘I just don't believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event.
‘And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word. I cannot be part of the public whoopla.’
