Mecia Simson wins Britain's Next Top Model

Teen beats Sophie Sumner and Jade McSorley in final

Mecia Simson is planning to wed fiancé Andrew Jones next year

Mecia Simson was crowned Britain’s Next Top Model 2009 last night.

The waitress pipped Sophie Sumner, 19, in the final showdown, which was hosted by Lisa Snowdon, 37.

Mecia, 19, wins a one-year contract with Models 1 as well as a Max Factor campaign and a spread in a glossy magazine.

‘For a moment I didn't think it was me when I came up on screen as the winner and then I just dropped to the floor and was like, “wow”,’ she tells The Sun.

‘It was the most amazing feeling ever and it a culmination of so many emotions. I never thought I'd win it.’

Earlier, Jade McSorley, 21, finished in third place.
