Singer reveals why he was in tears over reunion with mum

Peter Andre has explained why he was blubbing so much at an airport in Cyprus.

The singer broke down when his mum Thea made a surprise visit from Australia.

‘A lot was made of the photos of me in tears recently when my mum came to Cyprus, so I’d like to explain why I got emotional,’ he says.

‘Basically my mum and dad are both in their seventies and not in the best health, so for mum to leave my dad behind and travel thousands of miles to see me was really the best gift God could have given me.’

Pete, 36, insist he wasn’t crying over estranged wife Jordan, real name Katie Price.

‘People seem to think I was crying about my marriage break-up, but don’t you worry they were tears of happiness,’ he writes in his new! diary. ‘I can’t cry any more tears over Kate.’

Katie Price And Peter Andre: The Next Chapter Stateside airs on ITV2 on Thursdays at 9pm.
