Star speaks out after the singer's passing
Monday, 29 June 2009
Michael Jackson made a chilling prediction about his own death, according to his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley.
The pop legend was convinced he'd follow in the footsteps of Elvis Presley, who passed away on his bathroom floor the day before his tour kicked off in August 1977.
'Michael stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, “I am afraid that I am going to end up like [Elvis], the way he did,”’ Lisa Marie writes on her MySpace blog.
‘He just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that.
‘Fourteen years later the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.
'A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn’t predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened.’
Michael died at the age of 50 from a suspected heart attack on Thursday afternoon at his home in Beverly Hills.
Paramedics tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead in hospital at 2.26pm.
