Farrah Fawcett's son asked for forgiveness before she died

Redmond made an emotional phone call from prison

Farrah Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer in 2006

Farrah Fawcett's only child could not be with her when she died yesterday.

Redmond O’Neal, 24, is serving time in prison for drug offences.

His last contact with Farrah was a phone call from jail.

‘He told her how much he loved her and asked her to please forgive him, that he was so very, very sorry,’ his dad Ryan O'Neal reveals.

Redmond briefly visited Farrah in April - but he was taken back to his cell after three hours.

It’s unknown whether he'll be able to attend her funeral.
