Britain’s Got Talent judge is chuffed she's finally made it across the pond

Amanda Holden has credited Susan Boyle with helping her crack the States.
The actress has been presenting the country's Early Show since Britain’s Got Talent came to an end in May.
‘I’ll be the first to say that it was all because of Susan Boyle. Everything was on the back of her,’ says Amanda.
‘When everything went mad, the US networks couldn’t get enough of the Susan Boyle story, so [American network] CBS kept interviewing Piers Morgan and me about what was happening.
‘Somewhere along the way, they seemed to like me, too. When the series ended, they asked if I’d like to come over. I said: “Try to stop me!”’
Amanda, 38, admits she's always wanted to make it big across the pond.
‘Making it in the States is what I’ve dreamed of since drama school,’ she tells the Daily Mail.
‘I was always a sucker for that. Hollywood. The movies. The Oscars. All of it. The irony is that I’m getting a taste of it now.’

Re Susan Boyle audition I just read the following audience-member account of Susan's audition and if it is true, Amanda should be apologizing to Susan as well as thanking her for her new job: "Interesting editing - I was at the Glasgow taping, and a lot has been left out with the woman singer. At the end, Amanda Holden says "everyone was against her" and that it was her "privelege" to hear her sing. WELL! When the woman first said she was going to sing I dreamed a dream, Amanda laughed and told her to sing a Britney Spears song instead and was basically encouraging the woman to dance about and make an arse of herself. However, when the woman finally sang the song (after persuading the judges she should be allowed to sing it) Holden changed her tune instantly and said the woman was an inspiration. To be honest, out of the three judges that night it was Holden who set the majority of them up for a fall by suggesting they do different things instead of their actual act. Strange but true!"
Sorry Sherry but that has to be the dumbest comment I have ever read. The only instance where anything so remotely happened was the Shaheen/Simon thing were Simon set it up for him to sing a Michael Jackson song instead, like he or they just happened to have the instrumental for it. That was staged, set up to draw ratings, bring in the ringer who starred on the West End in Thriller Live as a young Michael Jackson. You were at the taping, right, you don't even know "the woman singer"(s)name. Your statement could not be the farthest from the truth, nothing even close to what you are describing happened, let me tell you something miss I was there. It was Piers who had the most cracks,laughter and remarks left on the editing floor. I think you need glasses or maybe a miracle ear or something, it was Piers who said to Susan, are you sure you want to sing that, that's alot of song. To which Amanda said, what do you want her to sing Britney Spears? And dance around up there. She was not mocking Susan she was criticizing Piers. You need to get your facts straight. You obviously couldn't hear over all the snickering an insults all the audience was throwing at her, that's where all the real trash was coming from. You obviously have issues with Amanda and that is your problem. I just want people to know the truth, rather than hand me down stories and lines. Oh and how do I know you may ask, well I'm one of the ones that left some film on the floor, imagine that.
I don't know about the audience member and how accurate she is . However Amanda has always appeared to me to be behind Susan 100% and for an ambitious smart glamour girl who can sing and dance as well as "yodel" *smile*and is an accomplished actress. It is nice that she acknowledges a relative unknown who has come out of nowhere has been the catalyst for her fulfilling one of her erstwhile frustrated ambitions. But then it would be hard for her to deny it. One thing for sure Susan would be happy for her and that is the remarkable thing Susan has touched so many lives in a very positive way. Very pleased she has landed a luctritive contract with Simon Cowell to make two albums.I wish her huge success.

Somehow I believe the girls at the concert because why would Susan have said to Amanda "you, too"...when it came to the voting.
IM PROUD OF AMANDA. IT IS GOOD FOR HER TO ACKNOWLEDGE SUSAN.. GREAT GAL.. I WISH HER ALL THE LUCK IN USA. OUR LITTLE SUSAN HAS WORKED MIRACLES, NO DOUBT.
