Musician said he had ex-wife on his 'personal payroll'

Max Drummey's apologised for suggesting his marriage to Peaches Geldof was a ploy to make money.
The Chester French star, 24, made the sarcastic claim during a gig.
‘It was totally a publicity stunt, 100 per cent,’ he said. ‘I have Peaches on retainer, not as my PR, as my friend, on my personal payroll.’
But Max now regrets his remarks.
‘My comments made regarding my marriage were not intended to be taken seriously,’ he said in a statement. ‘I apologise for those comments.’
Max and Peaches, 19, tied the knot in a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas in August 2008. They split six months later.
