Whoopi Goldberg: I was a heroin addict
Whoopi Goldberg was a wild child
Whoopi Goldberg has admitted that she was once hooked on drugs.
The comedy legend experimented with illegal substances before she found fame.
‘I was young, homeless and addicted to heroin. I dropped out of high school and into drugs. Simple as that,’ says Whoopi.
‘I was a child of the 60s so I ingested as many mind-altering substances as I could.'
Whoopi, 53, says her experience encouraged her to turn her life around.
‘It was a rite of passage,' she tells The Sunday Telegraph. 'And when I got clean I was convinced I wanted to be an actor.’
