Mel Gibson: I’m to blame for my marriage break-up

Actor says he and Robyn split 3 years ago

Mel Gibson and wife Robyn were married for 28 years

Mel Gibson has taken responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage to wife Robyn.

The actor, who is now expecting a child with girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, 39, thinks he could have handled it better.

‘I did a pretty good hachet job on my marriage myself, you know. I’m to blame,’ he told chat show host Jay Leno.

‘My wife and I, our marriage ended 3 years ago and we’ve been separated ever since. These things happen. It’s unfortunate, but she is an admirable woman. We still got kids together. Grandchildren, children, we have got things to do. It’s amicable.’

Mel, 53, is dad to Hannah, 28, twins Edward and Christian, 26, William, 24, Louis, 21, Milo, 19, and Thomas, 10, with Robyn.

Oksana is mum to Alexander with ex-boyfriend Timothy Dalton, 63.
