SHOCK! Brooke Shields in cancer scare

Actress found precancerous spot

Brooke Shields used to believe baking in the sun was safe and fun

Brooke Shields feared she'd develop skin cancer when doctors found a strange patch on her face.

The Lipstick Jungle actress, who was a sun worshipper as a teenager, was having a medical check-up when abnormal cells were discovered.

‘I had a spot on my face. The doctor scraped it, and it turned out to be precancerous,’ she reveals. ‘I was scared.’

Fortunately, Brooke, 43, had the spot removed and made a full recovery.

‘You think that because you're not in the sun anymore, it's all in the past,’ she tells People. ‘And then something like that crops up and you're made aware of how dangerous it really can be.’

Brooke is mum to daughters Rowan, 6, and Grier, 3, with husband Chris Henchy.
