Little Britain star wants to do his bit to keep Great Britain afloat

Matt Lucas is on a health kick

Comedy star Matt Lucas has shed 2st in the past 2 months – because he feared he’d cause a natural disaster.

The Little Britain star reckons he didn’t want the fate of the UK on his conscience.

‘I thought, “If I put on any more weight, this country will sink",' he quips.

'Because we are an island, we have to be very careful. I don’t want to make the sea levels rise because I’ve had another Toffee Crisp.'

But Matt, 36, isn’t interested in developing a six-pack.

‘Let’s not get carried away – the likelihood of me being a proper thin man is remote,’ he says. ‘I think I’ll end up a stone overweight.

'Or I’ll be fluctuating between being target weight and overweight.’
