Penelope Cruz gets food poisoning in Cannes

Actress unable to promote Nine and Broken Embraces

Penelope Cruz is dating Javier Bardem

Penelope Cruz is recovering from food poisoning.

The actress, 34, began feeling unwell after eating fish on Sunday night at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

She was unable to promote musical Nine, with producer Harvey Weinstein, the following day.

‘Penelope's got some kind of food poisoning,’ Harvey said at a press conference.

‘She's been really sick and being treated by a doctor now. Tomorrow night is her premiere for her movie [Broken Embraces], so she really wants to get better.’

Nine, which co-stars Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson and Fergie, will premiere in November.
