Girls Aloud star says shes just being herself

Cheryl Cole is still finding it hard to accept her newfound popularity.
The Girls Aloud singer has become an icon since joining The X Factor last year.
‘Oh, God, what’s that all about?’ says Cheryl, 25.
‘I do struggle with that – the Nation’s Sweetheart thing – because I don’t really get it. I’m just meself.’
Cheryl, who was sentenced to 120 hours of community service for assault in 2003, is going to enjoy the positive response while it lasts.
‘It’s lovely, though,’ she tells Hello! ‘I can think of worse things to be called – and I have been!
‘I’ve gone from one extreme to the other – I was a bit of a pantomime villain before. But I can feel the difference in people’s attitude towards me wherever I go, I really can. I can feel the love and that’s really nice.’
