Actress discovered a lump on newborn Emmes head
Monday, 11 May 2009
Jennifer Lopez’s daughter underwent an MRI scan when she was just three weeks-old.
The actress, 39, and husband Marc Anthony found a lump on Emme’s head and took her to hospital.
‘We both got very nervous, very very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet,’ Jennifer recalled at Noche de Ninos gala benefit for Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
‘I looked at [Marc] and I said, “You know if anything happens, I'm not going to be okay, you know that right?" Luckily in the end she turned out fine.’
But the experience prompted Jennifer to join forces with the hospital to form the Maribel Foundation to help provide paediatric medical services to the less fortunate.
Jennifer and Marc, 40, welcomed twins Max and Emme in February 2008.
