Kirstie Alley: I will not go out when I'm overweight

Actress wants to get in shape

When she was on a diet, Kirstie Alley dropped 5st in 3 years

Kirstie Alley refuses to go to showbiz events when she’s not looking her best.

The former Cheers star has ballooned to over 16st since parting ways with diet company Jenny Craig in 2007.

'When I'm overweight I will not go out,’ she says. ‘With my closest friends, yeah. But you wouldn't see me at a premiere.’

Kirstie, 58, now plans to get in shape after she learned of the shocking extent of her weight gain.

'I started screaming [when I got on the scale]. It said [16st 3lbs], which is my highest weight ever. I was so much more disgusting than I thought!' she tells People.

'So I'm going to have to work harder than last time. But I'm excited. I'm ready to work. I messed up along the way, but I'm not going to concentrate on that. I'm gonna go, "You know what? Get back on the horse, lose the freakin' weight, and then just move forward!'
