Ryan O'Neal's heartbreak over Farrah Fawcett’s cancer

Actor opens up about Charlie’s Angels star’s illness

Ryan O'Neal has spoken for the first time about Farrah Fawcett's cancer.

The Charlie’s Angels star, 62, has battled the disease for the past two and a half years.

‘It's a love story,’ he says. ‘I just don't know how to play this one. I won't know this world without her.

‘I can't hear a song, I can't pass places that we were together, without being stabbed in the heart.

'A week ago Farrah said to me, “Am I going to make it?” I said, “Yes, you'll make it. And if you don't, I'll go with you.”'

Ryan, 68, says he admires his long-term partner's strength.

'I fell in love with her all over again because of how she handled this,' he tells People. 

Farrah's recorded a two-hour documentary about her cancer, which airs in the States on 15 May.
