Who’d have thought it? Fern Britton and Posh Spice have more in common than you might think.

It was only last week that we were gasping at Victoria Beckham’s breathtakingly bony figure in a pair of boyfriend jeans.

And now it seems that the departing This Morning presenter has followed suit, donning exactly the same style on a recent outing.

Clutching her shopping, a smiling Fern may not look exactly skeletal, but there was no mistaking her trim figure. ‘Fern’s well on her way to getting to a size 10 for this summer,’ a source informs Now.

‘She’s been able to wear things like dresses from Kate Moss’s range for Topshop – and now she’s slipped into these boyfriend jeans.

Who'll be sitting in Fern's chair?

One Show fave Christine Bleakley may have said no, but many other high profile women are in the loop. Ex-Big Breakfast presenter Gaby Roslin’s said to want the job, as does Myleene Klass, GMTV’s Kate Garraway and the company’s former stalwart Fiona Phillips – plus Davina McCall. Producers may struggle to find the ideal successor as it’s said they want to offer less than Fern’s £750,000 fee.
