This Morning presenter has cut back on carbohydrates
Tuesday, 5 May 2009
Fern Britton and her chef husband Phil Vickery are on a protein-based diet, which is 70 per cent gluten-free.
The This Morning star, 51, had a gastric band fitted in 2006 and has lost more than three stone.
And Phil has revealed they avoid eating foods that are high in gluten - a protein found in wheat, rye and barley, which is hard to digest.
‘Fern has cut right back on carbohydrates and eats a really healthy diet now with loads of vegetables and fruit,’ Phil, 46, tells the Daily Mail.
‘But no food is completely banned because saying “no” simply makes you crave something. It's all about moderation.’
Meanwhile, Phillip Schofield, 47, reportedly wants his Dancing On Ice co-host Holly Willoughby, 28, to replace Fern when she leaves This Morning in July.
