Singer hoping to be back on stage within 6 weeks

Will Young has had the snip

Will Young has had his tonsils taken out.

The Pop Idol 2002 winner underwent emergency surgery last week.

Will, 30, is expected to recover in time to perform at the Isle Of Wight Festival on 12 June.

‘Will got them snipped out because of recurring bouts of tonsillitis,’ a source tells The Sun.

‘He’s confident he’ll be back to his best by then, but is taking nothing for granted.’

Will’s rep confirmed to Now Online that he had the op.
