Two people accused of attempting to extort money from John Travolta after the death of his son have pleaded not guilty.

Former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne, 47, deny conspiring to commit extortion and aiding attempted extortion.

They were allegedly seeking £17.6million from the actor.

It's thought John, 54, could be called to give evidence at the trial, which has been scheduled for 21 September.

Jett died of a seizure at the family's holiday home in Grand Bahama in January.
