Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick have been plagued by split rumours

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have confirmed they’re expecting twin girls through a surrogate mum.

‘They are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,’ reads a statement. ‘The entire family is overjoyed.’

The surrogate's name and details have not been disclosed.

Sarah, 44, and Matthew, 47, are already parents to James, 6.

The couple tied the knot in 1997.

Sarah will begin filming the Sex And The City sequel later this year.
