Dolly Parton: I owe it to my fans not to look like a dog

Singer still strives to perfect her image

Dolly Parton admits to having surgery

Dolly Parton has joked that she has plastic surgery to please her fans.

But the singer, 63, admits she’s frightened of going under the knife.

‘I'm a proud person, I'm not vain,’ says Dolly.

‘I look at it like it is – if you've got the money and you're going to be out there, you owe it to people not to look like a dog if you can help it.’

Dolly, famed for her big bust, insists her image gives her star quality.

‘I dress this way for the same reasons I did when I first started doing it,’ she tells New York Magazine.

‘It still comes from a serious place inside of me. I want to shine, I want to glitter.

'I’m just doing it to look like Dolly – the Dolly that I know and the Dolly that you know.’
