Actress in talks to play Dr Kay Scarpetta

Angelina Jolie has 6 kids with partner Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie is being lined-up to appear in a film adaptation of author Patricia Cornwell's best-selling novels.

The actress, 33, is in talks to play Dr Kay Scarpetta, a crime-solving forensic examiner.

Although there are 16 novels in the franchise, it’s thought the movie won’t focus on a specific title.

Angelina's rep says a deal has not been finalised.
