Amanda Holden to front US programme

Britain's Got Talent judge thrilled

Pride Of Britain Awards 2008: Amanda Holden enjoys herself
Amanda Holden is ready to crack the States

Amanda Holden is to present top US news programme The Early Show.

Producers have been impressed by the actress's professionalism on Britain’s Got Talent.

Amanda, 38, will debut on the New York talkshow on 1 June and she is being groomed to take on the role full-time.

‘Network executives were blown away by Amanda's cut-glass British accent and warm personality,’ says a source.

‘But she has never presented any kind of hard news before so it is quite a challenge. She has a lot of live TV experience under her belt, and has presented before - but she is understandably pretty nervous.

‘It is widely being seen as a live screen test and Amanda is being lined up as a long-term host.’

Amanda is chuffed about the decision.

‘It is true,’ her spokesman tells the Daily Mirror. ‘Amanda is thrilled.’
