Practical joker admits it's fake

Beyoncé Knowles is married to Jay-Z

A clip of Beyoncé Knowles apparently singing out of tune has been doing the rounds on the web.

DJ Howard Stern played what was claimed to be an unedited soundboard recording of the singer performing on the Today show last year.

But the person behind the screaming rendition of If I Were A Boy has admitted it was a hoax. 

'It's a little bit crazy,' the unidentified prankster tells TMZ.

'No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that.'

Beyoncé, who hasn't heard the track, dismissed it as ‘completely ridiculous’.

Her dad Mathew Knowles also defended his daughter, saying: ‘At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability.’
