Mickey Rourke has threatened to slap US presenter Joel McHale for making fun of his dead Chihuahua.

Loki passed away just before the Oscars in February, and days later Joel, 37, poked fun at the pooch on his comedy show The Soup.

‘Many say it was a pretty gay friendly Oscars and we think it could have been even gay friendlier, here's how... a tribute to Mickey Rourke's Chihuahua,’ he said.

Now The Wrestler star Mickey, 56, wants to confront him.

‘Who's the guy who made fun of my dog?’ he told reporters at the Hollywood premiere of his new film The Informers on Thursday.

‘Motherf**cker! Who's that guy, Joel MCHale? He's gonna get a slap in the face... That ain't right.

'If you see him, tell him he's gonna get a slap in the face – not a punch.’
