Madonna has made a financial contribution to help those affected by the earthquake in Italy.
More than 200 people died and thousands were left homeless when the quake struck the Abruzzo region on Monday.
Madonna, who is the granddaughter of two former residents, took action after the mayor of Pacento asked for support.
‘I am happy to lend a helping hand to the town that my ancestors are from,’ she tells People.
‘My heart goes out to the families that have lost loved ones or their homes.’
It's unclear how much she pledged, but it's rumoured to be in the region of £250,000.
Meanwhile, Madonna, 50, is said to have poured her heart out to pal Stella McCartney over her failed adoption of Malawi-born Mercy James.
