Noel Gallagher has quit Oasis

Noel Gallagher has left Oasis because he just can't get on with brother Liam.

The musician has posted a statement on the band's website explaining his decision came 'with some sadness and great relief'.

'I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,' the 42-year-old explains.

The Gallaghers have had many fall-outs since they rose to fame with debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994.

Noel is dad to daughter Anais, 9, with ex-wife Meg Mathews and son Donovan, 2, with partner Sarah MacDonald.
