Sir Bob Geldof thought she had bad taste in music
Monday, 13 April 2009
Sir Bob Geldof used to despair over Peaches Geldof's penchant for hip hop.
The former Boomtown Rats singer, 57, wanted his daughter to follow in his rock footsteps.
‘One day I came home in my denim skirt and Juicy Couture tracksuit top and my dad said, “What the hell do you look like?”
'I was like, “What are you talking about daddy? Shut up!”’ says Peaches, 20.
‘He said, “Seriously, this is embarrassing, all you do is listen to shitty commercial hip hop.”
'The next day, he put a box of records in my room. There was The Ramones and Johnny Thunders and the Rolling Stones and a record player.
‘From that moment I knew rock 'n' roll would be a big part of my life. That I would be around it and people who played it.’
