Lewis Hamilton minus Nicole Scherzinger at grand prix

Singer is currently on tour with Britney Spears

Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger will have a long distance relationship in the coming months

Lewis Hamilton was without girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger at the Australian Grand Prix.

The Pussycat Dolls singer has been dating the Formula 1 ace since 2007, and was present when he claimed the title in 2008.

But she was absent when he drove to third place in Melbourne yesterday.

The couple face being separated for the next seven months because of work commitments.

'That's what we signed up for,' says Nicole, who is supporting Britney Spears, 27, on her world tour.

'Our work is our passion. We are both driven people.'

Lewis, 24, has hinted that he'd like to start a family with Nicole, 30, one day.

‘I will definitely have kids,’ he tells The Sun. ‘I love children.’
