The singer is seen heading to court in Malawi, Africa
Monday, 30 March 2009
Madonna has begun the process of adopting another child from Malawi.
The singer, dressed in a black and white skirt, headed to court earlier today.
Her application to adopt Chifundo James has been adjourned until Friday, according to an official.
The four-year-old girl at the centre of the case, whose name translates into Mercy James in English, was born to an unmarried 18-year-old who died shortly after the birth.
She is at the same orphanage as David Banda, who was taken in by Madonna when he was 13 months old.
Madonna's kids Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, have joined her for the trip.
Her spokeswomen, Liz Rosenberg and Barbara Charone, and her lawyer in Malawi, Alan Chinula, have so far made no comment.
