Shilpa Shetty unable to attend Jade Goody's funeral

Bollywood actress has work commitments

Shilpa Shetty regularly phoned Jade Goody

Shilpa Shetty will not be at Jade Goody's funeral on 4 April.

The pair clashed on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, but they patched things up and became pals.

Shilpa, 33, will be in South Africa to launch the Indian Premier League cricket tournament when Jade, 27, is laid to rest.

'She would have loved to have gone to the funeral,' says spokesman Max Clifford. 

Shilpa was hoping to say her goodbyes to Jade last week, but the reality star was too ill for the reunion.

'I'm glad I got the chance to know the real Jade,' she tells The Daily Star. 'She became my friend and was a lovely person.'
