Sarah Jessica Parker lives in New York with husband Matthew Broderick

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick 'barely speak'

She and Matt have couples counselling...

Thursday, 26 March 2009

After almost 12 years of marriage, Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, and Matthew Broderick, 47, are allegedly holding crisis talks in a last-ditch attempt to save their rocky relationship.

Sources tell Now that SJP and her hubby’s problems have come to a head, leaving the couple in make-or-break territory as she books them in for marriage counselling.

Cracks first began to show after Matthew failed to deny rumours of a four-month affair with a 25-year-old youth worker last year.

With separate lives, friends and plans, pals say that if the pair can’t work out their differences, they might as well end things now. They claim that the couple only speak to each other if son James, six, is in the room or if they’re with other people.

‘Their relationship broke down some time ago and if they’re to have any chance of saving it, they need to start work now before things get so bad they can’t bear the sight of each other,’ says our source.

‘They’ve been living separate lives. They barely speak, sleep separately and can’t even be bothered to argue any more. This has been going on for over a year.

‘They’ve tried counselling before and it didn’t work, but Sarah’s persuaded Matthew to try again. She wants to have done everything in her power to save her marriage. If it still fails, she’ll know it just wasn’t meant to be.’

"They claim that the couple only speak to each other if son James, six, is in the room or if they’re with other people." How does anyone know how they act around each other when alone? This is dumb. All these stories come from anonymous "sources" but when the couple are actually out and about there seems to be absolutely nothing wrong with them. Get over it.
