Emma Atkins is looking forward to playing Charity Tate again

Emma Atkins will reprise her role as Charity Tate when she returns to Emmerdale later this year.

The actress played the fiery character for 5 years before leaving in 2005.

Emma's departure was watched by millions of viewers, and her comeback is part of a major revamp on the ITV1 soap.

'Charity is a wonderfully complex character and an absolute joy to play,' Emma tells The Sun. 'I will relish seeing what she's been up to.'

Emma, 33, will be returning alongside Jeff Hordley, who played her former lover Cain Dingle.
