Jade Goody's mum Jackiey Budden was with her daughter when she died

Jackiey Budden has paid tribute to her daughter Jade Goody following her death from cancer.

The 50-year-old, who held the Big Brother star’s hand as she slipped away, briefly spoke to journalists yesterday morning.

‘My beautiful daughter is at peace,’ said Jackiey, who looked exhausted in her pyjamas.

She later joined well-wishers outside Jade’s Essex home to admire flowers left on the driveway.

Jade's granddad John Caddock, 70, has also spoken of his loss.

‘I’m just sitting here thinking of nothing but Jade,’ he told the Daily Record.

‘I knew it was coming but when Jackiey told me on the phone at 4am it took my breath away.

‘Jackiey was in bits. I could hardly hear what she was saying.

'Jade’s gone and part of me has gone too. I hope she’s happy wherever she is.’
