Welsh singer looks up to The X Factor winner
Saturday, 28 March 2009
Rhydian Roberts wants to make it big across the pond like Leona Lewis.
The X Factor 2006 winner, 23, topped the US Billboard chart with her debut album Spirit last April.
'I'd love to sell records in America one day,' Rhydian tells Now Online.
'Even though we're very, very different, Leona has been a role model in that respect. She's shown that a reality person can crack America. I think every artist aspires to do that.'
Rhydian, 25, thinks last year's winner Alexandra Burke, 20, is also very talented.
'Alex will do very well - she's very gifted in her own way,' he says.
'What she needs is a great song written for her like [Leona's] Bleeding Love and who knows what could happen?'
Rhydian's self-titled album is out now and his tour kicks off at the end of April.
